A 39-acre tract along Ebenezer Road and Davis Road in Fayette County is being rezoned for a residential development. Petitions to rezone the two parcels, owned by Regina and Shelly Godby, from A-R to R-70 came before the Board of Commissioners in 2016 and 2017 but failed to get approval.

On Feb. 28, the board reheard and approved the measures 4-0-1, with Eric Maxwell recusing himself. The rezoning is contingent upon the developer providing 50 feet of right-of-way on Ebenezer Road and 40 feet on Davis Road for possible future road improvements. The developer also agreed not to use Davis Road, which is unpaved, for construction traffic.

The planned subdivision will contain 17 residential lots with a minimum lot size of two acres.
