Fairburn residents who may be eligible for a homestead exemption on their property tax are invited to attend a workshop 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 or 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Fairburn City Hall Council Chambers, 56 Malone St. SW.

Those who qualify for a homestead exemption from city of Fairburn Property Tax will have the taxable value of their property reduced by $10,000.

To quality you must:

Be 65 or older by April 1 of the year in which the exemption would apply.

Live in the home (primary residence)

Meet the income requirements (no more than $15,800 over Social security if single; $31,600 if married)

Present Federal Income Tax return as proof of income.
