Anyone whose child has had a child — more simply put, any grandparents — can get into Zoo Atlanta without paying a dime on Sunday.
All grandmas and grandpas have to do to receive free admission is be accompanied by someone with a regularly-priced child or adult ticket, or a Zoo Atlanta Member, and mention "Grandparents Day" at admissions.
The promotion is valid for two grandparents per purchased ticket or member card. Mention “Grandparents Day” at admissions to redeem the discount.
Zoo Atlanta is home to several grandparents, including western lowland gorillas Ozzie, 57, and Choomba, 55. The gorillas have more than 40 descendants living at the zoo and in zoological organizations throughout the U.S.
Choomba and Shamba are the grandmothers of the zoo’s youngest gorilla, Mijadala, born in September 2016.
The promotion is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage.
