The Evermore Community Improvement District, an association of property owners along U.S. 78 in Gwinnett that voluntarily tax themselves, is proposing a millage rate of 5 mills. The CID Board of Directors will vote on the proposed ad valorem tax rate at 2:30 p.m. July 9 at the CID Offices, 2795 Main St., Building 28, in Snellville.

The CID has maintained a millage rate of 5 mills each year for the past 5 years. Due to increased property values, the proposed millage rate will result in a 10 percent increase in property taxes. For a commercial property with an assessed value of $200,749,725, the taxes levied would be $1,003,749, an increase of $87,978.
