Eastside Medical Center wants you to know how long you might wait in its emergency room — just in case.

The Snellville hospital has put up a new billboard at 1520 Tree Lane and Ronald Reagan Parkway that displays real-time wait estimates. The digital clock on the billboard is updated every 30 minutes with a new estimate for the emergency room’s wait time.

Eastside has reduced its average emergency room wait time to 10 minutes or less, a hospital release said. The emergency room will still treat the most critical patients first, but all patients can expect to be given a medical screening exam within the projected wait time.

"The community we serve has our commitment that we will continue to strive to provide safe, quality care in an efficient manner to meet all of their healthcare needs,” said Director of Emergency Services Kevin Dalrymple in a release.

For patients not near the billboard, the wait time estimate is also available at EastsideMedical.com.
