The East Point City Council will discuss the November Ballot Initiative One during the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Station Council Chambers, 1526 East Forrest Ave. Suite 400. The initiative involves what East Point will do about several schools in the city with below par test scores. The council will consider the possibility of the state of Georgia taking over the city’s school options to improve the school’s test performance.
The council will also receive updates on the Trails master plan. The city is considering connecting a pedestrian trail that connects to trails in nearby cities.
