The Duluth Fall Festival Committee has donated $250,000 to the city for the Block capital improvement project. The majority of these improvements are included in the contract the City Council awarded to CBI General Contractors on July 27. The remaining funds are for plaza archway signage not included in the contract and will be bid separately.

Duluth is undergoing a major renovation of the downtown area between the Duluth Town Green, along West Lawrenceville Street to Abbotts Bridge Road. The area, known as the Block, will have a central plaza, outdoor dining areas, improved parking and a more pedestrian-friendly environment.

The Duluth Fall Festival is held the last weekend of September with all proceeds used to improve and beautify Historic Downtown Duluth.
