The Duluth City Council voted Monday to deny a request for a used car dealership at 2900 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Vladimir Kouznetsov of Wolfgang’s Automotive indicated his existing auto repair and used car sales business has outgrown its current location on Abbott’s Bridge Road.
Following numerous comments from surrounding neighbors who were not in favor, Duluth denied the request as seen as a possible violation of the city’s Unified Development Code, which calls for future auto sales activities to be relegated to the Buford Highway corridor and inconsistent with the overall objectives of the Comprehensive Plan.
However, the council did commend Kouznetsov for growing his business, and encouraged him to find another suitable location in Duluth for this expansion.
