Due to current and future redevelopment in the immediate downtown area, The Duluth City Council voted Monday to study the need for additional public parking. Discussions between the council and staff have centered around the possibility of locating a parking facility at the corner of Hill Street and Ridgeway Road.

The city will contract with Tim Haahs and Associates to perform a preliminary design study for the project. Funds for the $10,000 study will come from unallocated 2009 SPLOST Parking funds.
