Following a second public hearing on June 8, the Duluth City Council voted to approve the fiscal year 2016 annual operating and capital projects budget. The budget anticipates spending $26,565,269 with a 5.991 millage rate. The budget represents a shortage of as much as $3 million in incoming revenue. Despite the potential shortage, Duluth feels the city has sufficient reserve funds to balance the budget.
