Duluth announces qualifying dates for candidates

Candidates interested in running for mayor or one of two city council posts in Duluth will have the opportunity to qualify 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 19 through Aug. 21 in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 3167 Main St.

Individuals interested in running to succeed Mayor Nancy Harris will pay a qualification fee of $288. Candidates interested in qualifying for either Council Post 4 to succeed Kelvin “Kelly” Kelkenberg or Council Post 5 to succeed Greg Whitlock will need $180.

Voting for these positions will take place 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at City Hall. Residents within city limits should register to vote in this election no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 7.
