First, the good news: The weekend forecast includes mostly sunny skies and little rain, forecasters said. Temperatures should reach 90 degrees Saturday, when there is about a 20 percent chance of rain, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz. Sunday will be even warmer and mostly sunny, Nitz said. If you're planning a trip to the lake or pool this weekend, the weather should cooperate.

And the bad: The dry forecast gives road construction crews a great opportunity to make progress on various projects. If you don't have to drive on I-285, don't do it, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.

Traffic projects:

* Striping on I-285 southbound will close up to three lanes from Chamblee Tucker Road to East Ponce de Leon/Church Street will start at 9 p.m. Friday and last until 5 a.m. Monday.

* Two northbound lanes on I-285 will close at Northlake Parkway for sign structure work at 7:30 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday, the DOT said.

* On I-285, two northbound lanes will close from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to South Atlanta Road for concrete rehabilitation will start at 9 p.m. Friday and last until 5 a.m. Monday.

* Two southbound lanes will close from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Camp Creek Parkway for concrete rehabilitation and curing will start at 9 p.m. Friday and last until 5 a.m. Monday.

* Also, expect construction delays around Spaghetti Junction from Friday night until 5 a.m. Monday.

What's going on: Two big entertainment events will clog downtown roads this weekend. Comedian Kevin Hart will perform twice Friday and again Saturday night at Philips Arena. Next door at the Georgia Dome, country singers Kenny Chesney and Eric Church will also perform Saturday night. On Sunday, Lana Del Ray will bring her Endless Summer Tour to Aaron's Amphitheatre Lakewood. Also, about 10,000 people are expected to attend each day of the June Atlanta Apparel show at the AmericasMart.
