A DeKalb County woman was woken up early Tuesday morning by a barrage of bullets that were fired into her home, striking her in the leg, officials said.

The woman said she was asleep in her home on Lawndale Court near Decatur when the shots rang out about 3:15 a.m., according to DeKalb County police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer.

The injury to her leg is not considered life-threatening; an ambulance took her to a local hospital in stable condition.

Several shell casings were found in the road outside of the home, which is located in the Belvedere Park neighborhood.

Police are investigating the shooting and have not made any arrests.
