The city of Chamblee is reopening a local park that was revamped over the summer.

Renovations at Village Park have been ongoing since May. The park now features a multi-use field, community garden, playground and entertainment plaza, the city said in a statement.

Crews also renovated the parking lot, lighting and fencing. Chamblee paid Integrated Construction and Nobility, Inc. $778,000 to work on the park. That included $150,000 from a DeKalb County Community Development Block Grant, which helped pay for improvements that made playground equipment compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The city plans to hold a ribbon-cutting at the park next Friday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. The ceremony will be following by a showing of “Toy Story 4” on the lawn. Free popcorn and bottled water will be available, and the city urged residents to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
