The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs is participating in the Summer Food Service Program, June 1-July 31. Nutritious meals will be provided to eligible children 18 years old and under. Many children who eat free or reduced-priced meals during the school year miss out on nutritious meals in the summer. The Summer Food Service Program was designed to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.
Several sites have agreed to serve meals this year. For a complete list contact Rose McGrue at 678-698-1114.
The deadline to apply for the Summer Food Program is May 1; applications for the program are available online at www.dekalbcountyga.gov/parks or can be picked up Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the following locations:
Tucker Recreation Center, Attn: Rose Myrick, 4898 LaVista Road, Room 12; or Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department, Manuel J. Maloof Center, 1300 Commerce Drive, 3rd Floor.
