If you thought Sunday's 82-degree weather was nice, just wait. It's going to get warmer.

The Atlanta area hasn't seen temperatures in the 90s since September, but that is expected to change by midweek, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Until then, we'll get pretty close to hitting 90 degrees, Nitz said. Monday's high is expected to reach 88 degrees, 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

There's a slight chance of rain late in the day Monday, but sunny skies should return Tuesday, Nitz said. Tuesday's high should again reach the upper 80s and climb a little higher Wednesday.

Overnight lows for the week will dip into the middle to upper 60s, Nitz said. After Monday, the next chance of rain comes Friday, he said.
