The city of Decatur’s first indoor pool, at the Samuel L. Jones Boys & Girls Club in Oakhurst, opened to the public Oct. 23.

This pool differs from the city’s three outdoor facilities in that it’s opened year-round and logistics are more complex.

All programs will get scheduled around Decatur High’s swim team, which practices on site through February.

Weekday daily admissions is for lap swim only, with free swim planed for weekends noon to 4 p.m. when available.

Chamblee-based Dynamo Pool Management, which operates the pool, plans to offer swim lessons, water aerobics, arthritis aquatics and a year-round swim team. Some space is available for party rentals on weekends, noon to 4 p.m.

Basic price is $6 a day for Decatur residents and 20 percent higher for non residents.

The pool, which supports 50 swimmers, is open Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday noon-4 p.m.
