Clayton County police Monday were investigating an overnight shooting near Conley that left one person dead.

Channel 2 Action News reported that 21-year-old John Goodrum was hit by gunfire during a party after some feuding, uninvited guests arrived at a home on John Arnold Way.

Raeona Buggs told Channel 2 that she came outside immediately after a stray bullet hit Goodrum, who was sitting on her porch. Goodrum had been attending a birthday party for Buggs' mother.

"It happened in front of my door. I was standing right there," Buggs said.

Neighbor Precious Thomas, who told Channel 2 that she heard the shooting, said, "He [was] just an innocent bystander, lost his life like that."

No arrests have been made in the case.
