The city of Cumming has invited residents to participate in an update of its comprehensive plan by attending a public hearing in September or filling out a community questionnaire online.

The plan looks forward 20 years to guide city officials in areas of population, housing, land use, natural and cultural resources, economic development, transportation, community amenities and other topics. It was last updated in 2012.

A steering committee appointed by the mayor and City Council has started meeting, and a public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at City Hall, 100 Main St., Cumming. The hearing will address future land use and development policies.
