Tips from neighbors in August led police to bust up three alleged crack houses Friday in Buford.

Undercover officers were able to purchase crack cocaine numerous times during the investigation, and executed search warrants on the homes Friday morning, Cpl. Edwin Ritter with Gwinnett County police said. Two of the homes are near downtown Buford, he said.

Several suspects in each of the three homes, located on New and Gold streets and Hamilton Mill Road, were taken into custody, Ritter said. Officers were still investigating suspects Friday afternoon, he said.

SWAT team officers were called to one of the homes, which had extensive, commercial deadbolts on all of the exterior doors, Ritter said. Officers also believed there were firearms in each room, he said.

Investigators are trying to determine if the alleged drug dealers at the three houses were working together or were competitors, Ritter said.
