Due to the National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory on Jan. 17 and 18, the city of Atlanta government offices, including the Municipal Court, were closed. In an effort to best serve the public, the Municipal Court announced it will reschedule all court dates affected by the closures, and will waive all failure to appear citations generated for Wednesday, Jan. 17 through Friday, Jan.y 19.
The Municipal Court of Atlanta handles a variety of cases under state laws and city ordinances. Violations include D.U.I., parking disputes, traffic and moving violations and “quality of life” cases including disorderly conduct, drug offenses and panhandling.
Municipal Court phone lines are experiencing a heavy call volume. The court asks anyone with access to email to contact CourtDate@atlantaga.gov.
