A Sandy Springs man told police he was robbed at gunpoint by three men, one of which he went to high school with.
The incident allegedly occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26, and the man told police that the men robbed him of his cell phone and camera, which were valued at about $1,800. The man told police the incident happened at the Spalding Bridge Apartments off Towbridge Road.
According to a police report, the victim told police he had been using Instagram to coordinate a photo shoot with the suspect who attended North Springs High School with him.
After setting up the shoot, the victim met the classmate and two other men he was familiar with at the apartments. After the victim began taking photos, one of the men pulled out a silver revolver, pointed it at him, and the other man whispered in his ear and said “give me your camera.”
The victim handed over his camera, and the classmate asked the victim for his cell phone and password, police said. The three men calmly walked away from the scene and no one was hurt.

Police said the victim identified the suspects as being 18-20 years old and about 5-foot-9 in height. One of the suspects wore his hair in short twists; another had shoulder-length dreads. The victim gave police two of the men’s names and their Instagram handles.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
