Two recent home invasion burglary cases have been linked to the disappearance of a south Georgia man, Conyers police said.

Kim Lucas, a spokesperson for Conyers police, said police are trying to connect the dots in the disappearance of an Early County man.

Darrian McDaniel, 26, of East Point, Demitric Lawson, 19, of Atlanta, and a 15-year-old male juvenile, who was initially believed to be a female because of his features and long hair, were arrested Friday and taken into custody, according to the incident report. The suspects are being charged with burglary, home invasion, possession of stolen property, and evading police.

The two invasions took place a little more than a week apart on Jan. 27 and Friday at the same Century Lakeside Apartments, located in the 1200 block of Peaks Landing.

During both burglaries, apartment doors were kicked in and victims were able to provide police with information about suspects.

During the Jan. 27 home invasion, the resident was able to identify what he thought was a female suspect who had earlier that morning knocked on his door to ask for a jump for her brown pick-up truck. The resident agreed to assist her, but, once outside, the suspect said she didn’t need help anymore as her friend was able to get a jump.

During the second burglary attempt, the apartment was unknowingly occupied. When the would-be burglar attempted to enter the apartment, the resident screamed and the suspect ran. The resident immediately called 911 and gave police a description of the male suspect.

Investigators said the same brown Ford F-150 was at the scene during both home invasions.

When Conyers investigators ran the tag on the truck, they said it came back stolen; the truck belonged to an Early County man who had been reported missing three weeks earlier.

Dispatch alerted officers and broadcast the truck’s description. Sgt. Chase Bagwell who was responding to the call, spotted the truck. Bagwell gave chase temporarily, but as speeds reached 100 mph, he discontinued as rush hour traffic in the area was beginning to pick up.

The officers lost sight of the truck, which eventually crashed. The suspects fled on foot in the area of Old Covington Highway, police said, and were apprehended about 30 minutes later with the assistance of The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Conyers investigators are working with Early County investigators to gather more information on the missing man, and how the suspects gained possession of his truck.
