The Lilburn City Council recently voted unanimously to award the Jackson Creek Trail project to the lowest bidder, CMES Inc. The new trail will run along the south side of U.S. 29 from Jackson Creek to Postal Way.

This Transportation Enhancement Grant funded project consists of just under one mile of clearing and grubbing, sidewalk, and installation of one pedestrian bridge. A Transportation Enhancement Grant will cover $700,000 of the 786,952 total project cost. Lilburn will supply the remaining $86,952 from SPLOST funds.

Construction on the Jackson Creek Trail project will begin within the next few weeks.
