A nonprofit group that is developing walking trails along Peachtree Creek raised more than $50,000 at its annual Creek Rising event, held on April 27 at Zonolite Park.
The South Fork Conservancy is one of 17 urban wildlife partnerships in the country. The trail system, which includes four developed routes now and aims to connect existing and future trails along the urban waterway, will eventually comprise 30 miles of trails from Buckhead to Emory University.
The event included an award for volunteer and board member Bob Kerr, along with a “race” of 200 rubber ducks on the creek.
