The College Park Police Department will be hosting the 14th Session of the Citizens Police Academy. The Citizens Academy is a 10-week program created to promote cooperation between the police and residents. The program features classes on police organization, procedures, and crime fighting techniques used by police. Classes cover information on 911 response, court processes, interpersonal communications, firearms, unarmed defense, and crime scene processing. These classes are free and open to College Park residents and employees of businesses within the College Park corporate limits, Over 175 people have completed the Academy, which starts June 18th.
