The Cobb County Water System is one of the best in the country, according to a leading consumer research firm, when it comes to customer satisfaction.

J.D. Power ranked 88 water utilities across the nation using six primary factors: delivery, price, conservation, billing and payment, communications and customer service, according to a county statement.

Steve McCullers, Water System agency director, said, “We have been able to provide high-quality service, with extremely low rates, because of the many years of experience of critical employees and our willingness to utilize available reserves to address budget shortfalls. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent service in the future - despite funding challenges.”

Cobb ranked third in the south region, but its score also ranked third nationwide.

The J.D. Power 2018 Water Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study found nearly one-third of water customers nationwide reported they had water quality issues.

However, Cobb consistently has met or exceeded federal and state standards for water quality.

Cobb County Water System is a AAA bond-rated retail water and wastewater system, serving about 180,000 accounts.
