New fees for use of the six Cobb senior centers still will go into effect Feb. 1 but with a monthly payment option. Also, no later than the first of June, Commission Chairman Mike Boyce said a new committee will review setting more new fees. This unanimous decision was made Jan. 23 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

Previously, Cobb senior citizens would have had to pay $60 per year and nonresidents $90 per year to use the senior centers. Now, with the monthly payment, a senior citizen could skip monthly payments if they could not use a senior center. As before, senior citizens also may qualify for discounts or free access based upon their income or by sponsorships.
