Mixed-use developments in Mableton will be allowed to serve alcohol in the businesses below the residential units or close to a church, public library or park, school or college. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted to allow this change and the adoption of the Mableton form-based redevelopment district.
Mixed-use developments will be allowed in the new district around the first Mableton Town Square which opened in April. This $2.2 million project rerouted Church Street around a football field-sized green space and created a new roadway called Mableton Town Square.
In most cases, the serving and sale of alcoholic beverages are not allowed within a 300-foot radius of a property line of a private residence or within a 600-foot radius of a church, public library or park, school or college.
