This week the UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute (FSRI) will partner with the Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services to conduct a series of experiments involving live fire.

Live burns will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily through July 25.

The experiments will be conducted in four apartment complexes at Arlington Park Apartments, 1972 Kimberly Village Lane, Marietta.

Members from Cobb County and surrounding fire departments will participate in the experiments.

The results and conclusions of this project will be used to improve firefighting tactics, fire ground safety, fire dynamics knowledge and firefighter standard operating procedures.
