Cobb County Elections is hiring poll workers for the 2018 election cycle.

With around 140 polling places, they need additional people to work elections on May 22 for the general primary/nonpartisan/general/special election, July 24 for a possible runoff and Nov. 6 general election/special election, according to Cobb Elections Director Janine Eveler.

Qualifications are to be at least age 16, a U.S. citizen and a Cobb County resident or an employee of Cobb County Government.

Poll workers also must be able to read, write and speak the English language and have had no felony convictions for at least 10 years.

Cobb hires nearly 1,600 people to work as poll workers at the pay rate of $200/election for poll managers, $150/election for assistant poll managers, $115/election for clerks, $15 to help set up the poll, $20/three-hour training class and $30/four-hour training class.
