Clayton County Board of Commissioners are set to vote on the county’s FY 2014 budget on June 11. The proposed general fund budget is $172.8 million, a decrease of $19.6 million - or 10 percent - from the 2013 amended budget. The decrease is due to bond refunding and a 7.5 percent drop in residential home values which adversely affected the tax digest, commission chairman Jeff Turner noted in a prepared statement to the community. The tax digest is down 3 percent. The county held a public hearing on the budget Tuesday.
