The Clayton County Department of Transportation and Development will host its second round of public open houses this month for the Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update. At the open houses, the public will be invited to review draft recommendations for transportation improvements through 2040. Attendees will have an opportunity to view displays, talk with staff and provide feedback.
At the four open houses there will not be a formal presentation, so participants may stop by during the event. The same information will be presented at each location:
5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at South Clayton Recreation Center, 1837 McDonough Road, Hampton
5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center, 3499 Rex Road, Rex
5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at Virginia Burton Gray Recreation, 1475 E Fayetteville Road, Riverdale
5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Headquarters Library, 865 Battlecreek Road, Jonesboro
The CTP Update serves as a framework for how Clayton County will improve its transportation networks to serve current and future needs. Clayton County hosted the initial round of CTP Update open houses in October 2017 during the study’s needs assessment phase. The second round will focus on sharing the recommendations that have resulted from in-depth analysis, travel demand modeling, and citizen feedback.
