Several students and a driver were injured Monday morning when two school buses collided in Gwinnett County.

The crash took place at the intersection of Rockbridge Road and Rockbridge Way, where two buses were stopped while one loaded children, said Cpl. Edwin Ritter of the Gwinnett County Police Department. Ritter said a third bus, en route to Camp Creek Elementary School, approached and rear-ended the second bus.

The driver of the third bus was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, Ritter said. Ten of the 38 children on that bus complained of back pain and were treated by Gwinnett Fire Department personnel at the scene. None of the children were taken to the hospital.

No students on the other two buses were injured; the driver and a monitor on the second bus complained of injuries but declined to be taken to the hospital.

The driver of the third bus, whose name was not released, was cited for following too close.
