Ten tennis courts at the Cherokee Tennis Center will be resurfaced and repaired as part of a $42,000 contract recently awarded by the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners.

Signature Tennis Courts Inc. submitted the lowest of three bids for the work, which calls for repairing, resurfacing and relining 10 courts and adding pickleball lines, according to a staff report to commissioners.

“Tennis courts crack by their nature, and this work is expected as part of the regular upkeep of the courts,” staff said. “The courts were last resurfaced five years ago. This work is included in the current SPLOST program.”

The Tennis Center is at J.J. Biello Park in Woodstock. Information: https://cherokeetenniscenter.com/
