Cherokee County has put out a call for poll workers for the 2020 elections.

The job pays $20 for training and $120 for election day duty, according to a county Facebook posting. Interested persons must be a county resident at least 16 years of age; able to read, write and speak English; and willing to attend mandatory state training.

Poll workers are not eligible for nomination nor to currently hold public office; nor may immediate relatives or in-laws of a candidate serve in any precinct where the candidate’s name will appear on the ballot.
