Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services officials this week added an additional ambulance to serve the southwestern portion of the county.
Spokesman Tim Cavender said the new vehicle’s in place at Station 19, 100 Ridgemill Court in Acworth. It’s close to both Ga. 92 and to the small portion of Interstate 75 which passes through the county.
County officials said business and residential growth in the area warranted the improvement in coverage. In the first three days, the ambulance was dispatched to 20 calls, officials said.
