Canton on Friday lifted a water boil advisory imposed after a water main break earlier in the week disrupted service to most, if not all, of the city.

The break occurred Tuesday night in a main along Riverstone Parkway. Service was restored Wednesday afternoon.

Residents were advised to boil their water for at least one minute if pressure was low or if the water appeared murky.

City spokeswoman Candy Worthy said the outage and low pressure affected "all residential areas and businesses that utilize city water."
