The city of Brookhaven approved and adopted the fiscal year 2015 budget in a unanimous vote. Totaling $31,934,167, the budget includes enhancements to police, parks and recreation and public works starting Jan. 1.

The budget represents a $5 million increase over 2014’s budget providing $3 million to the Parks and Recreation department, $3 million to the Public Works department for paving and sidewalks and the hiring of nine police officers.
