Can the Blues be taught or is it something you’re born with? It definitely can be taught. Just ask Chicago Joe Jones.
Chicago may be where he was born, but Atlanta is where he put down his roots. Watch him bring the blues to a new generation.
"I saw a lot of kids' lives turn around who maybe weren't doing well, who maybe didn't think a whole lot of their abilities and themselves until they realize that they could really do music," Jones said.
Jones is the leader of weekly blues jam sessions, runs a summer camp and teaches students from all parts of metro Atlanta.
"There's one real secret to learning to play music," Jones said. "When you start to learn you don't quit."
