A brawl outside the L.A. Fitness club off Wade Green Road in northern Cobb County sparked gunfire Friday afternoon.

Now, Cobb County police are looking for a possible gunshot victim and a Mercedes-Benz with shattered glass.

Around 2:45 p.m., two groups of men were arguing in the parking lot at the 4200 Wade Green Road location near Kennesaw, witnesses said.

Between eight and 10 men started fighting, some swinging baseball bats or wooden posts and even breaking out the window in one car, witnesses said.

"Then I heard a pop and saw guys scatter," said Brandon Allen, who was leaving the L.A. Fitness.

Allen said he saw a group of men get into a champagne-colored SUV, and another group jump into a silver Mercedes-Benz with broken glass.

"They were checking themselves to make sure they got the glass off themselves," he said.

Dave Sears, who works across the street from the fitness center, said police cars were on the scene within minutes of the shooting, but not before another man in a tank-top T-shirt stepped out of the SUV waiving a wooden 2×4.

"It was all over in just a few minutes," Sears said.

Roy Foster said he passed a large group of men gathered outside the fitness club on his way to the Big Lots! store at the other end of the parking lot. "I didn't think anything of it," Foster said.

But when he came out of the store 20 minutes later, he said, "those were the same guys scattering. Five minutes later, police come speeding to the scene."

It is unclear whether anyone was injured.

Cobb County Police Department spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce confirmed that investigators are seeking a silver Mercedes-Benz with a broken-out rear window, and are checking area hospitals for a gunshot victim.
