Braselton will hold a town meeting to consider adoption of the Fiscal Year 2019 budget at 5 p.m. June 28 in the courtroom of the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Facility, 5040 Highway 53.

The town anticipates a $193,925, or 3.5 percent, increase to $5.7 million in the general fund budget and a 10.7 percent, or $681,750 increase to $7,048,750 in the utility fund.

Braselton expects a decrease in revenue from building permits and impact fees totaling about $200,000 less than the previous year. Additional funding will likely be needed for consultants and engineers working on a number of town projects, staffing needs within the police department, and increased utility department costs.

Braselton will have less debt, down approximately $217,000 from $1.5 million to $1.3 million. The town will maintain no millage rate. Copies of the budget are available at Town Hall, 4982 Highway 53.
