In a joint partnership with Norcross High School and Paul Duke STEM School, Norcross will be honoring the Class of 2020 with a special billboard featuring a rotating slideshow of graduating seniors from both schools. For two weeks, beginning at 12 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, the billboard will display two students per slide, rotating in alphabetical order by the students’ first names. On average, each student will be on display twice a day over the next two weeks.

“The Class of 2020 has had to face obstacles like no other graduating class before them,” explained Norcross Mayor Craig Newton in a statement.

“They’ve had to adapt to a virtual classroom, to the uncertainty of how long such modifications would be needed, and to the challenges and distractions that more or less come with independent study. They’ve even had to take their final examinations (like AP assessments) from home.

And throughout it all, they’ve been robbed of the opportunities to savor last moments with friends, teachers and mentors who have been with them from the start.

The Class of 2020 has faced much, but their achievement is all the greater because of it. We are so proud of these students’ resilience, and just wanted to do a little something for them to help make this time special.”

Students and parents may pull into the Norcross Triangle Shopping Center parking lot to view the billboard at the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and N. Norcross Tucker Road.
