The Berkeley Lake Comprehensive Plan steering committee will meet for the first time at 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at City Hall, 4040 S. Berkeley Lake Road. The meeting is open to the public and city residents are invited to provide input.
The city’s steering committee is made up of homeowner association presidents and other community leaders along with representatives from the Atlanta Regional Commission. Their goal is to help draft an update to the 2014 Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in Jan. 2015, that will guide city leaders when setting community development goals and public policies. Topics may include housing, transportation, parks and recreation facilities, and any potential annexations into the city.
The city will hold a public open house at 5 p.m. Oct. 17. A second steering committee meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 7, and a second public hearing will take place before the City Council at 8 p.m. Nov. 15.
