Work is to begin Monday, Jan. 14, on the Valley Streetscapes Project in Ball Ground, City Clerk Karen Jordan reported in a recent issue of the "Around Town News" electronic newsletter.

Valley Street will get curbs, gutters, sidewalks and some landscaping from Depot Street south to Howell Bridge Road East. The work will be funded by a $560,000 federal grant to Ball Ground.

Once initial construction is finished, Jordan said, “we will hire Georgia Power to install streetlights from Coy M. Holcomb Street north to Beck Street. These lights will be the post-top style lights that closely match the lamp posts currently in front of the pharmacy on Valley Street.”
