The Austell City Council agreed Dec. 3 to spend no more than $30,000 for an emergency roof repair at the Austell City Hall and the city’s adjoining Police Department.
Funding will come from the contingency fund for “an urgent matter,” said Mayor Pro Tem Ollie Clemons.
Jim Graham, director of the city’s Community Affairs and Parks Departments, said the city only has one bid so far but is waiting on another possible three bids to give the city a better deal on a warranty.
Graham added that the leaks need to be stopped by the beginning of the year.
Councilwomen Valerie Anderson and Sandra Leverette told Graham they would like to see the written bids to which Graham agreed.
