The Austell City Council approved unanimously Dec. 4 matters related to two new Venture Home developments.

Kai Lu of Venture Homes presented to the Council a site plan adjustment for 63 units instead of 68 units to allow more open green space “to meet concerns of the opposition.”

This development will have a density of about two units per acre at 6210 Mary St., Lu added.

In the other matter, a street light plan for Creekside Overlook at 5801 Maxham Road means Venture Homes will install seven lights and pay monthly costs of about $115 for the first year.

Based in Marietta since 1984, Venture Homes has built single-family homes and townhomes in Acworth, Atlanta, Austell, Canton, Marietta and Smyrna to become metro Atlanta’s 13th largest homebuilder.

So far, that totals 15 single-family communities, ranging from the $180,000s to the low $400,000s, and six townhome developments from the $170,000s to the high $200,000s, according to the company’s website.
