Auburn has completed the city’s 2018 Comprehensive Plan Update. With the help of the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission’s Planning & Government Services Division, the comprehensive plan serves as a decision-making guide for Auburn’s local government officials and community leaders. Based on input from the public and a steering committee, the plan identifies needs and opportunities, goals and policies, land use practices, and an implementation framework for key elements.
The document defines Auburn’s vision to maintain the community’s “quaint hometown feel, excellent leadership, and affordable standard of living. Its central location between Atlanta and Athens allows for opportunities for economic development. Through careful planning, Auburn will grow in population and business activity.”
