A northeast Atlanta man was robbed early Thursday by gunmen who blindfolded him and tied him up, police said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was taking out trash in the 700 block of Ralph McGill Boulevard when two masked men with guns approached him, Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones told the AJC.

The gunmen forced the victim back into his home, blindfolded him and tied him up, Jones said.

The victim was able to untie himself and call police just after 4 a.m., according to dispatchers.

He was not injured.

Police have not said what was taken or released a detailed description of the assailants.
