Police are investigating a shooting in southwest Atlanta Thursday night that left a 30-year-old man nursing gunshot wounds to the buttocks and chin.
The victim, Sir Adreon Chanardo Allen, and a cousin had just gotten off a MARTA bus about 7:15 p.m. and walked over to a relative’s pickup truck at the intersection of Avon Avenue and Graymont Drive, Atlanta police Sgt. Curtis Davenport told the AJC.
“They were leaning against the back of the truck, and a black Dodge Charger approached them,” Davenport said.
“As the Charger got close, Sir Allen waived for it to go around, and when the Charger was going around, Sir Allen and the driver of the Charger exchanged some kind of words,” Davenport said. “When the Charger pulled off, he fired a few rounds, striking Sir Allen.”
Davenport did not know what the victim and the driver of the Charger, which possibly had a Florida license tag, said to one another.
Allen was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was in stable condition.
